Teens are at the greatest risk of being involved in motor vehicle collisions caused by drunk or distracted driving. The Appleton Car Accident Lawyers with Sigman, Janssen, Stack, Sewall & Pitz explain that is why an event aimed at raising awareness of these dangers amongst local high school students was held at the Performing Arts Center in Appleton on Wednesday.

According to WBAY 2 News, the event was called Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youths, or PARTY, and featured several speakers. These individuals told stories to the group about how their lives were impacted by distracted or drunk driving. One individual told the teens of how her life had been changed as the result of killing a motorcyclist in an accident after a night of drinking, while another discussed what life in a wheelchair is like following a collision caused by distracted driving.

Many of the students and parents in attendance at the event later stated how the words from the speakers would make them think twice before engaging in these behaviors in the future.

The law firm and their team of Appleton Personal Injury Lawyers applaud the efforts being made to raise awareness of the dangers teens face on the road and are hopeful to see more events like this in the future!
