Brian P. Hodgkiss
Originally from Appleton, Brian graduated from Xavier High School and attended college at St. Norbert in De Pere. Brian attended Law School at Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, Brian was employed in the legal department of Green Tree Financial Corporation. At Green Tree, he worked in the areas of inventory financing, commercial credit, consumer credit compliance and real estate finance.
Shortly after graduation, Brian began a general practice at a large regional law firm located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In Stevens Point his practice involved business litigation, municipal law, plaintiff personal injury and insurance defense. He joined Sigman, Janssen, Stack, Sewall & Pitz in August of 2004. Brian became a partner in 2009.
During the course of his career, Brian had the opportunity to establish a diversified practice. Brian has represented both municipalities and individuals in planning and zoning matters. Brian has represented plaintiffs and insurance companies in personal injury cases. He has also had the opportunity to represent contractors as well as property owners in complex construction defect matters. He has had the experience in representing clients in the area of consumer protection and has used that experience to trouble-shoot for his business clients in order to avoid common pitfalls.
Brian takes pleasure in serving his clients and making them feel comfortable and confident with the legal process. It is Brian’s hope that at the conclusion of any case, in addition to achieving success, his client feels he has been accessible and responsive to their needs. It is his goal to educate each client so that at the end of their case they feel they have been a well informed participant.
